The back has the map of current day Punjab, etched in 3d print. a 2d 3d effect is created with the text on the back being screen printed. This piece connects 3 languages, Arabic, Punjabi Gurmukhi and English, and aims to bring together communities that were forcefully separated.

The story of the Partition is one that is not often told, from our grandparents to their descendants, the story is often laced with pain. 2 new countries were formed, separating the Muslim majority in Pakistan, and the Hindu majority in India. May this T serve as a reminder that though there may be a border between us, Punjab

Brothers meet after 74 years apart when the borders were shut

Countless other stories like this exist, family members having been separated since the formation of the borders of India and Pakistan. With the 2 countries warring with each other since, the people of both sides never got to properly heal from that which they lost.

- link to [ many articles that point to the british and how they drew the borders in 3 days, how they had to pull out of india really quickly because of PUNJABI SIKHS pushing them out. ] [hopefully links to how there were deals that were made in the favor of other 'religions and the british' and how the only sikh present didnt sign the consitution of india, also how it has further led to the dimishnment of punjabis in india itself ]

- The British decided that the subcontinent would be divided into two states: the Muslim majority state of Pakistan and the Hindu majority state of India. Cyril Radcliffe was appointed to mastermind this division. Radcliffe was a British lawyer who had never been to India prior to his appointment as chief cartographer for the daunting project. How can we support the cause, even in the smallest ways

- Speak to people who went through it, start with your own family! There are many people who have gone through these large traumatic events and have not told a soul, reach out to them hear their stories, let them be heard. Then create conversation in your own circles, in wider circles. Make this an issue that others can get in on, and support their causes as well, this is how activism begins. [link to places where people can talk / forums / conventions where they can meet etc]
try to convince the other side to see past their propgand filled news enough to have a constructive converstation.

- Go out there to Punjab, see the borders for yourself, hear the stories from those left on either side, visit Pakistan Punjab and see the same.. See whats left

- Donate to causes that support victims, .. [links to places to donate]
