Revisiting Punjab’s Transformative Journey, 1947-1966: An Appraisal
Land of Five Rivers, Partition, climate change, my grandmother, and me. - tracing the legacy of partition back through ancestry, and connecting it with current day India/Pakistan climate crises
Getting to the why of British India’s bloody Partition - This article shows us how there were actually many more displaced and deceased victims due to the partition of Panjab.
Stories Don’t Halt at Borders - tales remembering the partition, "The British decided that the subcontinent would be divided into two states: Muslim majority state of Pakistan and Hindu majority state of India. Cyril Radcliffe, appointed to mastermind this division, was a British lawyer who had never been to India prior to his appointment as chief cartographer for the project."
How can we support the cause, even in the smallest ways
- Speak to people who went through it, start with your own family! There are many people who have gone through these large traumatic events and have not told a soul, reach out to them hear their stories, let them be heard. Then create conversation in your own circles, in wider circles. Make this an issue that others can get in on, and support their causes as well, this is how activism begins.
- Go out there to Punjab, see the borders for yourself, hear the stories from those left on either side, visit Pakistan Punjab and see the same.. See whats left
- Donate to causes that support victims. We will soon have verified links to donate to, as well as be sending a portion of our proceeds to related causes.
