This design speaks to something close to the heart—the way pre‑partition Panjab, once whole and vibrant, was affectionately imagined as a butterfly. Over time, its wings have been clipped and divided, leaving the land fractured and scattered.
These embroidered butterflies serve as a reminder of what Panjab once was, a beloved land whose partition left the butterfly without its wings.
